My Valentines Day Mantel // Come check it out!

This year it took me quite a while to take down my Christmas decorations. I was just so done with the Holidays and I wasn't looking forward to putting everything away. I want to say it took me 3 weeks into January before everything was put away. So I was in no hurry to decorate for Valentines day. I was more excited to create my Valentines 3 Tiered Tray (Click to read all about it).

I did have a few items that I was really excited to make from the Chalk Couture Winter Warm-Up Mini Launch. With 10 new Transfers, most Valentines related, I knew I could create some awesome items for my Mantel. Plus I have a few Valentines transfers from previous catalog launches, so I had my alot to pick from to create my mantel.

Come check out my Mantel!

Can you guess how many items I chalked on my Mantel?

4!

Lets start from left to right:

1st item on the Mantel is the Tile that I added scrapbook paper with Modge Podge. Once that dried, I used the Confection Candy Hearts Transfer. This is a great and easy craft to do with anyone!

2nd item is Large Magnetic Chalk Board that I found at Marshalls! This was a great find! and I knew that this would be great for the Wings to Fly Transfer. I used bright white and I loved how it turned out. Want to see how I made this: Click Here!

3rd Item is small wooden light pink block that says "Kiss Me". This block came in a 3 piece set from the Dollar Spot at Target for $3!

4th item is a Painted Wooden sign that I used the retired  Love Heart Transfer in Bright White Chalk Paste

5th item is a metal bike sign that I got at Hobby Lobby I think on clearance. It was just too cute to pass up!

6th item is the 2nd Pink  "Love You" block from the 3 pack from the Dollar Spot at Target.

7th item is a large pink heart from the Dollar Tree that I painted light pink. Then I used the Hugs and Kisses Transfer on the heart in Candy Apple Red Chalk Paste

8th item is a Red thick tag that says "XOXO" in white writing from Marshalls.

9th item is an Red sign that says "I Love You'. I bought this sign at Marshalls years ago. On the edges is has small red hearts.

10th item is the 3rd white block that says "Be Mine" from the 3 pack from the Dollar Spot at Target.

11th item- The banner hanging below that says "Happy Valentines". Ive had this for a few years and got it from the Dollar Spot in Target.

There you have my Valentines Day Mantel. 4 of the 11 items I made myself with Chalk Couture!

Wings to Fly // Come chalk with me!

I fell in love with the Wings to Fly transfer when I saw it in the Winter Warm-Up mini launch. It's such a great saying in a pretty font. I had found this pretty Magnetic Chalkboard at Marshalls in a great big size. It was such a great find! I have so many great ideas and the best part it's reusable! That's what I love about the Chalk Paste... Create- Remove - Recreate again! So once I received my shipment with Wings to Fly, I just knew they were perfect together.

This was an easy project to make. I actually had to make this twice. My 3 year old loves to hang out with me in my craft room. He's like my little chalking buddy who looks at all the fun items in my craft room. Since this is a large surface, I decided to sit on the floor and create it. After I chalked it, I pulled the transfer and went to wash it off. I didn't even think to lift it off the ground. After cleaning the transfer, which only took a few minutes, I walked back into my craft room to find that my little Mason had walked on it. He didn't even realize it. And when I said something, he felt so bad. I told his that I would easily remake it and not to worry!   And then he gave me the biggest hug. These are the moments that mom's live for. After that, I just sprayed the chalkboard down, wiped it away and rechalked it again. It was just that easy! That's one reason that I love Chalk Couture Transfers are reusable.

Come see how I made it!

Supplies Needed:
Magnetic Chalkboard- Found surface from Marshalls

Step 1
Get all your supplies together. Open the Bright White Chalk Paste and stir it well using a Stir Stick

Step 2
Flip the transfer over and take off the backing carefully. Fuzz the whole transfer lightly holding down the transfer. This is the easiest way to fuzz a large transfer. Don't be afraid to fuzz it alot. If it seems really sticky, it might need quite a few fuzzings. Since the new transfers seem to be stickier, fuzz fuzz FUZZ! You don't want that to pull up the back ground up when removing the transfer. Once you are done fuzzing, grab the transfer, flip to back over and lay onto the surface.

Step 3
Press the transfer onto the surface firmly and grab the Stir Stick and apply the Bright White Chalk Paste onto the transfer. Take the Handled Squeegee and glide the Paste all over the transfer covering all mesh areas. Since I am only using 1 color, I am able to chalk without it drying out. Once fully chalked, pull the transfer from the top to bottom holding both ends, making sure to not stretch the transfer. Now since these new transfers seem to be more stickier that the older one, evenly pulling the transfer is important.

Step 4
Clean your transfer right away. This will ensure more uses. To clean larger transfers, I clean them in the shower. Make sure the wall is clean and place the dirty transfer on there. Use the shower head to clean with cold water. Grab your board eraser and clean both sides. Once clean, hang or lay sticky side up until dry. Once dry, apply backer and store away.

Remember I told you about my 3 year old who stepped on it? Here it is:

And then I recreated it! Check out the finished project:

Now enjoy your creation!

DIY Valentines Day Decor! Make a special gift to give to a loved one! Come chalk with me!

Can we talk about how cute this Transfer is?! For anyone who is the milk to your cookie, the cheese to your macaroni, you’re going to need to put your paste to this Transfer. This playful and flirty message captures all the fun of being in love.
When I received this transfer in the Winter Warmup Pack, I knew just what I wanted to put it on. I bought this pack of chalkboards on stands that fit a Size A transfer perfectly. The best part is that they are double sided so you get double the usage! Who doesn't love that!

Let me show you how I used this You Are Transfer. This is perfect for Valentines Day or any time to show someone you love them!

**Best part about these supplies is that one you buy them, you can use them over and over with other projects!

Step 1
Get everything you need into your work area. Open up and stir your chalk pastes so that are ready to go.

Step 2
Fuzz your You Are Transfer with the Fuzzing Cloth. You want to do this so it doesn't get stuck to the chalkboard surface.

Step 3
Lay your transfer down on the chalkboard stand in the position you want. Once you find your exact placement, push down and make sure it has adhered well.  Place some washi tape over the heart.

Step 4
With your Mini Squeegee, apply the Bright White Chalk Paste to all words except for the heart. If this took you a little while to do, you could use the paste and pull method. Now take the washi tape off of the heart and take the Multi-tool and dip it slightly into the Raspberry Sorbet chalk paste and paste the heart.

Step 5
Now its time to pull up your transfer and see your masterpiece! Make sure you are pulling evenly so it doesn't stretch the transfer.

Step 6
Time to clean that transfer! Clean immediately with cold water and a board eraser. These work wonders and making your transfer look brand new. After cleaning, I lay the transfer sticky side up and a clear plastic cutting board from the Dollar Tree. Its flexible and can hold a few small clean transfers when they are drying. Plus its easy to clean and store.  Once clean, let dry. Once dry, place the backer back on the sticky side of the transfer.

Do you decorate Valentines Day?
I love to create my mantel for each holiday!

February Club Couture - Go Confidently // Come Chalk with Me!

Subscribe to Club Couture in February and discover what Henry David Thoreau was talking about when he said “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.”

On-trend arrows, a mix of fonts, and the blocky shape of each element make this design perfect for so many gifts and apparel items, or snappy décor. Use the elements of this cut-apart Transfer individually on smaller projects, or combine them to confidently fill a larger surface. Make Henry proud!

February’s Club Couture subscription includes the Go Confidently Transfer as well as Chalkology™ Paste Singles in Black Velvet, Currant Jam, and Shimmer Gold. If that’s not inspiring, then nothing is!

Supplies Needed

Club Couture Transfer: Go Confidently

Chalkology Paste Singles: Black Velvet, Currant Jam, Shimmer Gold

Tools: Small Squeegee, Mini Squeegees, Transfer Trimmers, Color Trays, Fuzzing Cloth

Color and Placement Suggestions

Black Velvet: “Go Confidently” sentiment
Currant Jam: “Direction” word only
Shimmer Gold: Accent arrows

Follow these instructions to complete this project:

1. Remove your Transfer from its packaging.

2. Cut along the Transfer’s provided cut lines to separate the elements.

3. Carefully peel off the Transfer Backer Sheet of the element you’re using first.

4. “Fuzz” the Transfer element by gently pressing onto a Fuzzing Cloth and carefully pulling it upward to collect a bit of lint (this helps to more easily remove the Transfer from the surface after you’ve applied the paste).

5. Centering left to right, position the accent arrows element at the center top of the board. Smooth out the element to adhere, ensuring there are no bubbles or wrinkles.

6. Centering left to right, position the “Go Confidently” sentiment in the center of the board. Smooth out the element to adhere, ensuring there are no bubbles or wrinkles.

7. Knead each Chalkology Paste Single, cut or tear open the top, and squeeze the desired amount onto a Color Tray, using a new tray for each color.

8. Use a generous amount of paste on your squeegee and smooth it over the Transfer (see “Color and Placement Suggestions”).

9. Once the screen portion of the design is completely covered, squeegee the excess paste off as evenly as possible and scrape it back into the tray. The more excess paste you remove, the better the result will be.

10. Before the paste dries, slowly peel back the Transfer. To prevent any stretching in the Transfer, peel from the center instead of peeling diagonally. Immediately clean the Transfer with cool water (do not let it soak).

11. Dry the Transfer flat with the sticky side up.

12. Once the chalked sections are dry, repeat steps 3–5 and 7–10, using the accent arrows element again at the bottom of the surface. (If you work quickly after using it the first time, you may not need to wash the arrow element between uses.)

13. Once all Transfer elements are washed and dried, reapply the Backer Sheet to each and store flat.

Go confidently in the direction of your home décor!
