My take on the July Club Couture - Let's Get Lost

I LOVE the July Club Couture transfer! It has a little of a vintage flair.  This is a really easy one since I only used 2 paste colors.  When I joined Chalk Couture as a Designer, I got this great 9 x 12 framed chalkboard called the Couture Gallery Aiden Style White Frame that I have used for almost all of my Club Couture Transfers. They fit perfect and I love the frame on it. It gives it a farmhouse feel. Let me show you how I styled mine.

Supplies needed:

Step 1: Get your accessories all together so you are not stopping mid way to grab something. This is the time to pick your paste colors and stir them well. Always stir your paste colors before you use them. If they fell a little dry, add a little bit of distilled water to it and stir well. I picked Couture Teal and Shimmer Gold pastes. The Shimmer gold is an amazing color and the pictures on the Chalk Couture site don't do it justice!

Step 2: Take your transfer out of the plastic covering and fuzz fuzz fuzz that transfer!

Step 3: Lay your transfer down onto your surface. Make sure its completely flat.

Step 4: Make a game plan of where you want your paste colors to go. I wanted the globe part to be in the Couture Teal color and the stand to be in the Shimmer Gold color. Now you can start chalking! I used the Small Squeegee on most of the globe part and the Multi-Tool to use when I got close to the stand. When chalking the stand, I used the Multi-Tool the whole time. The Multi-Tool has 2 sides to chalk small areas with ease.

Step 5: Lift up transfer and wash it off. The faster you wash it, the cleaner it will be. Use the Board Eraser to get it really clean, really easy. Its a great tool! After washing, lay it upside down so it can dry and you can put on the backing. These transfers are meant to be used 8-12 times each! But I have heard of people using them way more than that! Now clean your tools. During the chalking, I will wipe them will baby wipes, but when I am done, I just put them in a mason jar filled will water. These are easy to clean too. I've never even needed soap to clean them.

Step 6: Display your awesome chalk art! I love these 2 paste colors together!

What Paste colors could you choose? There are so many options, the outcome possibilities are unlimited!

June Club Couture - Shine

The June Club Couture has been released and its called Shine. It's a quote by Maya Angelo. This seems to be a great one for these time since they have been so dark for the past few months. Be the light and make sure you SHINE

You have your own special light within—let that glow show and let it shine on others! This encouraging, exclusive Transfer is June's Club Couture design-Shine. Join Club Couture in June and add on this sunny Transfer while supplies last.

Supplies Needed
-Chalkology Paste Singles: Daffodil, Iris, Bumblebee
Color and Placement for Club Couture: Shine
1.  Wording: Daffodil
2.  Sun rays: Bumblebee

Follow these instructions to complete the Club Couture project:
1.   Prepare your Chalk Transfer™ by removing it from the packaging.
2.  When you remove the backer from the Transfer screen, be sure  to “fuzz” it to gentle the adhesive by sticking the adhesive screen  to a Fuzzing Cloth or terry cloth towel to pick up a bit of lint before applying it to your board.
3.  Position the Transfer and smooth to adhere to your surface,  ensuring there are no bubbles.
4.  Prepare your Chalkology Paste by kneading the packet, trimming  off the corner, and squeezing the desired amount onto one of  your Color Trays or another palette surface. Stir paste if using 3 US fl. oz. jar.
5.  Use a generous amount of Chalkology Paste and smooth it over the words in the diamond at the center of the Transfer and fan out to include part of the sun rays (see color and placement suggestions). Squeegee the excess paste off as evenly as possible.
6.  Working quickly, smooth paste over the remaining part of the rays and quote attribution (Maya Angelou).
7.  Once the screen portion of the design is completely covered, squeegee the excess paste off as evenly as possible. The more excess paste you remove, the better the result.
8.  Carefully peel back the Transfer before the paste dries and immediately put it in water to clean thoroughly.
9.  Once clean, let dry with the sticky side up.
10.  Once all the Transfer elements are clean and dry, reapply all backers and store flat.

My take on May Club Couture - Love Conquers All

I finally got a chance to get to my Club Couture Transfer since my youngest was down for a nap and the other kids weren't being too needy and were watching TV. I knew this was my time to get some chalking in!

I'll show you all my steps and walk you through the process.

Here's what you need to make this:
Club Couture Transfer
Chalk Pastes
A Surface
Fuzzing Cloth
Small Squeegee
Stir Sticks

1. First things first is picking out your chalk colors you want to use. I wanted to use pastels for this so I used:

Seafoam (retired)
Bright White
Wisteria
Morning Sky
Peony
2. Before starting, I like to stir all the chalk paste, so it has a good consistency when I am ready to use  it.

3. Next I lay my surface down and figure out how I want my transfer to lay on it. Then I fuzz the transfer so it doesn't stick to surface too much. You don't want to ruin a transfer by it being too sticky and stretching it.

4. Lay your transfer down on your surface and make sure that it has adhered well. To get crisp lines, press down and make sure there are no air bubbles.

5. Start chalking! Start with the 1st color at the top and work your way down. That way if you need to lift it, you can pull down, but continue to chalk.
***Tip- To make sure your chalk doesn't dry before its ready to take the transfer off, you can you the lift method. Chalk a section, and then lift just enough where you have chalked. Either hold and let it dry (long way) or hold and dry with hair dryer (short way). I didn't have my hair dryer handy so I just let it dry. Once its dry, which doesn't take too long, carefully lay it down, but don't press it down. Just press down where you haven't chalked again if it lifted a bit.

6. Once you have completed everything, go wash your transfer! I like to wash it right away because sometimes the paste or ink will stain it. I like my transfers to look new so I try to take care of them the best I can. I have the best way to wash them and let them air dry too! Ill have to make a blog post soon! Wash your squeegees and your stir sticks too while you are at it! I normally only use 1 squeegee, and just clean it with a baby wipe between colors. Saves on cleaning time.

7. All done! Time to show off your masterpiece!

I LOVE how this turned out! What do you think?
I can't wait to see what June's Club Couture will be!
