July 2021 Club Couture - Bowl of Cherries // Come chalk with me!

Get ready for a Transfer that is flippin’ sweet! A burst of cherries with a whimsical handwritten font truly exemplifies a care-free summer. We think this Transfer looks crisp with the three harmonizing paste singles included with your Club Couture shipment: Cadet, Candy Apple, and Ocean Mist. Use the cherry icons multiple times to create an abundance of delicious fruit, or try adding them as an extra fun touch on other surfaces and accent pieces.

This summer, we hope that you make memories that you will cherry-ish forever!

Supplies Included:

-Club Couture Transfer: Bowl of Cherries
-Chalkology® Paste Singles: Cadet, Candy Apple, Ocean Mist

Supplies Needed:

Color and Placement Suggestions:

-Cadet: Full sentiment
-Candy Apple: Cherries, stems, and leaves
-Ocean Mist: Water droplets

Follow these instructions to complete this project:

1. Remove your Transfer from its packaging and carefully peel off the Transfer Backer Sheet.

2. “Fuzz” the Transfer element by gently pressing onto a Fuzzing Cloth and carefully pulling it upward. This will make the Transfer easier to remove from the surface after you’ve applied the paste.

3. Center the Bowl of Cherries Transfer on the surface. Smooth the Transfer out to ensure it has properly adhered and that there are no air bubbles or wrinkles.

4. Knead your Chalkology Paste Singles. Cut open the corner of each packet and squeeze the desired amount of paste onto a Color Tray, using a new tray for each color.

5. Smooth a generous amount of Chalkology Paste over the Transfer using a squeegee or Multi-Tool (see “Color and Placement Suggestions”).

6. Once the screen portion of the design is completely covered, squeegee the excess paste off as evenly as possible and scrape it back into the tray. The more excess paste you remove, the better the result will be.

7. Before the paste dries, slowly peel back the Transfer. To prevent any stretching in it, peel the Transfer back vertically from two parallel corners, instead of diagonally.

8. Immediately clean the Transfer with cool water and a Board Eraser. Do not leave the Transfer in water or let it soak.

9. Dry the Transfer flat with the sticky side up.

10. Once the Transfer has been washed and dried, reapply the Backer Sheet and store it flat.

11. Relish your creation and “cherryish” the beauty of homemade projects!

Check out my Ocean Mantle // Before it gets changed out for 4th of July!

I really enjoy creating and changing my mantle for each season and holiday. But the normal everyday mantel is always ocean themed. I love finding things to add to it. This collection just seems to grow over the years, so I when I revert back to a non-holiday, I can change it up every time put it back up.

Starting from the left is my Octopus Chalk Art that I created a few weeks ago. I created this all with Chalk Couture Transfers and Chalk Paste. Check out the Blog post HERE!

Next on the mantle is a starfish that I have had a really long time. I've used it in all of our house in some way.

Moving to the next item is made with all Chalk Couture items. But the best part of this Chalk Paste is that it is a custom color. Can you guess how I made it? The Chalk Paste used was all the left over chalk paste mixed together from the Octopus Chalk Art. So the match perfect!

Then I added in the giant upper case wooden B that I found at Marshalls.

In the middle of the mantle is this Beach sign that I made from Scrap wood and Chalk Couture a transfer and Chalk Paste. This was a great easy DIY project that I made in minutes.... yes minutes! I love projects like these!

On the other side is another Star Fish that I have has forever as well. Can't ever have enough starfish!

This large teal vintage looking whale is one of my favorite items that I own. I purchased it a few years ago. This whale is so heavy and fully made from wood. I first saw this at Marshalls but didn't want to pay the $25 price tag. I thought about this whale all the time. And when I went back to finally get it, it was gone! I was so upset that I missed out. Since Marshalls doesn't carry the same stock, I thought "that's it. I missed my opportunity. They a week to two later, while strolling through the aisles, there is was! My Whale!  I put that whale in my cart and she is all mine.

Next to my whale is 2 vintage looking wooden buoys. I've has these for years and years and these are also a favorite of mine! I think I bought these at Home Goods.  These are also ready heavy and made completely out of wood.

On the Left side bottom start with my Vintage looking wooded buoys with hooks. I bought these on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

Right under is my rope buoy ball. I don't remember where I got this but I have also have had it for a while. My husband questioned me on this purchase.... I just laughed and told him it's party of the ocean decor.

Next to that is the Vintage looking wooden painted blue anchor. I have had this for a long time and I'm not even sure where I got it.

On the right side of my fireplace, I have this vintage bell. Im not sure if it even has anything to do with the ocean but once I saw it I fell in love. It has a very soft bell sound when swung around. I actually found this at a resort in my home town called Wine & Roses. I actually used to work there in the Spa as a Nail Technician. Wine & Roses has this amazing gift shop in the Spa called The Nest. It has great finds. While at the Spa one day for a massage, I saw this bell. I was there for quite a while, and then on one of my birthdays, my Mom surprised me and got it for me!

Next to the bell is a small sign that I made. This was a fun easy- Sunshine is Favorite Color! Is was a quick 5 minute project - Click HERE to read the blog post!
Here's a video on how I made it:

The last item is this octopus wall art. We have had this since the Jackson street house. I bought it at Target 4-5 years ago.

4th of July 3 Tiered Tray // Come Chalk with Me! // 2021

I had so much fun buying and creating items for this years 4th of July. I just bought a Glowforge about a month ago, and I couldn't wait to use it! If you don't know what a Glowforge is, it's a Laser Printer that cuts, engraves and scores all kinds stuff like wood, fabric, leather, paper, Plexiglas (acrylic), Delrin (acetal), mylar, rubber, Corian, foods, and more. Glowforge can also engrave all of the above plus glass, coated metal, marble, anodized aluminum, titanium, some phones, tablets, and laptops, and more. So pretty much a fancy crafting machine!

Want more info on the Glowforge? Click Here!

Some of the items that I chalked and some items I created my own files and cut in the Glowforge. Plus some items I bought too.

How many Rae Dunn items do you see?

Come see how I styled my 4th of July 3 Tiered Tray!

Top Tier

This tier starts with a red, white and blue wooden beaded garland with a wooden tag with says God Bless America. Next to that is a wooden Star with a flag print from Hobby Lobby (last year). Then is the Blue Matte Rae Dunn USA Mug from Marshalls. Inside the mug is a sign that I made from a scrap piece of wood and I created the design myself and cut it out on my Glowforge. Then I painted it and glued it on to the scrap piece of wood. Behind the sign and inside the mug are some glitter stars on sticks from Dollar Tree. There is a thin vintage garland that starts on the top tier and continues throughout all of the tiers.

Middle Tier

Starting on the Left side, is a red & white striped small bowl that came from the dollar section at Target a few years ago. Inside that is a plastic ice cream bowl that came in a set (see bottom tier for the rest) of 4. Next is the small shabby chic USA sign that I made from a piece of scrap wood and Chalk Couture transfer and Chalk Paste. On top of that is a hanging decoration on a vintage 4th of July little girl from Hobby Lobby. On the right is a Rae Dunn Brave Mug. Inside of the mug are some more glitter stars on sticks from Dollar Tree. In front of the mug is a small wooden sign that says America from Hobby Lobby. The thin vintage garland continues on this tier too.

Bottom Tier

From the left, I painted 2 old cans with chalk paint in white and blue and sanded them down a bit. Then there is a small blue with while stars bowl - that came in a set with the red & white striped bowl from the middle tier- from the dollar spot at Target. Inside that bowl is a Rae Dunn USA mug. Next to that is another red painted can. Inside of the can is a Freedom sign from Hobby Lobby. In the middle is a Rae Dunn flag candle with Brave writer under the flag(2020). On the right is a Rae Dunn America Mug. Inside of the Mug are 2 Rae Dunn Spatulas -Large has a Americana Top Hat and says Brave and the Small on says Home of the Brave. In the back is the 3 other ice cream bowls in fun red, white and blue patterns. These also have spoons inside. The thin vintage garland continues and finishes under this tier.

How many Rae Dunn items did you find?                           7!
