Start 2021 with 3 new Creative Kickstart projects plus a new Paste Palette

What is Creative Kickstart?

It’s time for a new start. What better way to kickstart 2021 than with new, inspiring projects made from limited-time products?! Chalk Couture has  developed three fresh, new B-sized Transfers that interact well with each other (think of them as building blocks you can mix and match!), and a Chalkology Paste Palette Pack that coordinates like a dream. We’re making these available in a promotion we call Creative Kickstart!

2 ways to get the Creative Kickstart Transfers!

You can purchase Creative Kickstart Transfers at regular retail price on your Chalk Site, or earn them FREE with qualifying orders.

• When you spend $75 USD, you get 1 Transfer FREE.
• When you spend $100 USD, you get 2 Transfers FREE.
• When you spend $125 USD, you get 3 Transfers FREE.
*Order subtotal before taxes and shipping.

Once your carts subtotal reaches each spending threshold, you will see a pop-up notification to add their choice of a FREE Creative Kickstart Transfer(s)!

When can I get my hands on these?!?

The promotion begins for customers and will be live my Chalk Site beginning January 1, 2021, at 9 am MT through January 31 at 11:59 pm MT. Products are available while supplies last only.

What products are available in Creative Kickstart?

All three Creative Kickstart Transfers are B-sized and are designed to work with each other, all mingled up in each other’s business. Mix the pieces. Match the pieces. Go wild.

• Creative Kickstart—Be Strong (item M2048101)
• Creative Kickstart—Faith Moves Mountains (item M2048102)
• Creative Kickstart—Show Up (item M2048103)

These Transfers look great in any color combination, but we especially love the look when made using our NEW! Luxe Palette Pack (item PS211103). The pack includes six individual Chalkology Paste Singles in one fanciful palette: Colonial Blue, Ocean Mist, Papaya, Peachy Keen, Shimmer Frost, and Shimmer Gold.

Why don’t I see that palette pack in a catalog?

The Luxe Palette Pack officially launches with the Spring/Summer Collection, but those colors are so perfect for Creative Kickstart, we think you need them now. So go ahead: order up some Luxe Chalkology Paste now, and get chalking. The Luxe Palette Pack is releasing to support the promotion, and is available at regular retail pricing for customers and Designer pricing for Designers.

Do I need to choose a specific Transfer as their free item?

Yes. When ordering off my Chalk Site and you reach a qualifying purchase total, you can add a Creative Kickstart Transfer(s) to their order for free. If you qualify for more than one Transfer, they can choose different designs from the three available Creative Kickstart choices, or add multiples of the same design if they are over the moon for it!

Who is ready for a new year!?! I know I am!
Do you make stuff for your home? Let me know! I would love to hear all about it!

December Club Couture - Welcome

Welcome to Club Couture! We hope you feel the warmth and kindness of this month’s Transfer. There are so many ways you can use this! Swap out the “o” in “Welcome” with the floral image, accent with additional foliage as desired, or vary your surface to best fit the space that calls to you. This month’s Club Couture subscription includes Chalkology Paste singles in warm tones—Storm, Guava, and Peachy Keen—but we can picture you using another mixture of colors for any sass, spunk, or class you want to add.

Supplies Needed

Club Couture Transfer: Welcome

Surface: Double-Sided Box Frame (6" × 18")

Chalkology Paste Singles: Guava, Peachy Keen, Storm

Tools: Multi-Tool, Small Squeegee, Transfer Trimmers, Color Trays, Fuzzing Cloth, Placement Tape

Color and Placement Suggestions

Storm: Letters and accent foliage Guava: Large flower
Peachy Keen: Flower center

Follow these instructions to complete this project:

1. Remove your Transfer from its packaging.

2. Cut along the Transfer’s provided cut lines to separate the elements.

3. Carefully peel off the Transfer Backer Sheet of the element you’re using first.

4. “Fuzz” the Transfer element by gently pressing onto a Fuzzing Cloth and carefully pulling it upward to collect a bit of lint (this helps to more easily remove the Transfer from the surface after you’ve applied the paste.

5. Centering top to bottom, position the “WELCO” part of the Transfer near the left side of the board, and the “ME” near the right side; leave sufficient space between the Transfer pieces to use the floral image in place of the “O”. Smooth out each element to adhere, ensuring there are no bubbles.

6. Knead each Chalkology Paste Single, open the corner, and squeeze the desired amount onto a Color Tray, using a new tray for each color.

7. Use a generous amount of Chalkology Paste on your squeegee and smooth it over each letter of the Transfer, skipping the “O” in “Welcome” (see “Color and Placement Suggestions”).

8. Once the screen portion of the design is completely covered, squeegee the excess paste off as evenly as possible and scrape it back into the tray. The more excess paste you remove, the better the result will be.

9. Before the paste dries, slowly peel back the Transfer. To prevent any stretching in the Transfer, peel from two corners instead of peeling diagonally. Immediately clean the Transfer with cool water (do not let it soak).

10. Dry the Transfer flat with the sticky side up.

11. Once those chalked sections are dry, repeat steps 3–5 and 7–10 for the flower. Let the flower dry completely, then repeat for the flower’s center and the foliage piece (placing the foliage on the bottom right-hand side of the flower). When chalking the foliage piece, it may be helpful to cover the floral image with Placement Tape to keep from getting additional paste on your floral image (if pasted as we’ve shown, the foliage should appear as if it’s coming out from behind the flower).

12. Once all Transfer elements are washed and dried, reapply the Backer Sheet to each and store flat.

13. Relish your creation!

My Halloween 3 Tiered Tray - See how I styled mine!

I had so much fun creating my Halloween 3 Tiered Tray this year. I added some new Halloween Rae Dunn Mugs, a Wooden garland, 3 spooky ladies and a Chalk Couture shelf sitter that I made. With Halloween being one of my favorite holidays, I really looked forward to styling this one.

I made more shelf sitters, but there just wasn't room to put them on there! Oh well, there is always next year!

Want to know where I got everything? I'll list those out as well!

As a Rae Dunn Collector, I will say its been really hard at my local Marshalls to find any good mugs. Either we don't get good ones very often or people buy them all out. Which really sucks for us honest collectors. Im not looking to make a buck off some mugs and I really hate to purchase them at crazy prices. And by the rare chance I do find double of a good mug, ill buy both to do a give away on one. I'm sure I could sell them, but I would rather share my awesome finds! I actually found the Pumpkin Queen Mug with the dark orange inside way after the fall season. I don't know if I have ever grab something so fast in my life. There it was... just sitting there waiting for me! I always say, never pass up a great Rae Dunn, because it won't be there next time.

Top Tier

1. The Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus are the main focus on this tier. This might be my favorite part! They are the perfect size and give off a great Halloween vibe. I got 2, Mary and Sarah, from Amazon and Winifred from Ebay. Winifred was the hardest to find. I didn't want to pay alot for these so I just waited, and waited... and waited! I finally found her as a Damaged Box item. Only the box was damaged so it was a win for me! I don't even keep the boxes!

2. There is a wooden craved pumpkin on the back left side. I found these at Target in the Dollar Section and I grabbed a few. I wish I would have grabbed a few more.

3. I found these cool Halloween Mug at Marshalls with these spooky pumpkins. I saw it one day and passed it up. Then when I got home I was mad that I didn't grab it. Went to Marshalls a few times after that but couldn't find it. I thought it was goer forever. Then one day while standing in the checkout line, there is was! Just waiting for me! I grabbed it. It's not a Rae Dunn Mug, but it's too fun to pass up.

4. Inside of the mug is a Shelf Sitter with Boo on it. This a one that I made with Chalk Couture! So easy too! It is the perfect size to sit inside the mug.

5. This is where my Halloween wooden bead garland that I made starts. I really love making Wooden Bead Garlands for each Holiday! This one was fun since I added glitter to the white beads.

Middle Tier

1. My Rae Dunn Happy Halloween Mug with an orange inside. This is a double sided mug, with Happy on one side and Halloween on the other. Since I couldn't show both, I picked Halloween to show. This is a Marshalls find.

2. My Vintage Candy Corn. I actually have 3, but there is a bigger one somewhere else in the house. These are one of my favorite Halloween decor items. I love how they give the feeling that they have been around for 100 years. I got these at the cutest booth at the Lodi Street Faire. They always have the best vintage looking Holiday items. I make sure to grab a few to add to my collection.

3. This Vintage Witch Print is also from the same cute booth at the Lodi Street Faire. I've had this for a long time and love to display it around the house for each year. I feel like it fits perfect on the shelf and its up out of the way from my kids hands.

4. My Wooden Bead Halloween Garland makes it way through this tier.

Bottom Tier

1. This Rae Dunn Pumpkin Season Candle smells so good. Its such a great Fall Candle. I found this a Marshalls.

2. Next to the candle is a Hand painted Pumpkins from a great Local Artist M. Courtney. She is also at the Lodi Street Faire. I love visiting her booth and added some to my collection. This pumpkin is handing on a orange vintage bottle.

3. Another carved wooden pumpkin from Target. Can't beat the Dollar Section!!

4. My Rae Dunn Pumpkin Queen mug! This is my favorite Fall/Halloween mug. If you know me, you know that I am a self declared Pumpkin Basic Bitch, so of course Pumpkin Spice is life for me. When I found this mug at Marshalls, I might have done a happy dance right in the aisle!

5. Last but not least, my Halloween wooden bead garland ends with a orange pumpkin. I was able to string this garland all the way from the top tier to the bottom tier. I think this garland gives it a great finished touch to the whole 3 tiers.

Here is a full view of the Halloween Wooden Bead Garland that I made!

Remember the Cook Book Holder that I made a while ago? If not, check it out HERE. This was so a fun and easy project to make and it fits well perfect with my 3 tiered stand. I use it all the time when making new recipes.

My Halloween Mantel - come take a look!

With every holiday, I change out my mantel for each one. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so I always have enough decorations. With all the amazing Chalk Couture Transfers and products, I was able to create so many home decor items! The best part of the Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving season is that yo can use most of your items the entire time! Just add in Halloween and then remove after its over! Most of the other items are good to go!

I was able to create so many items this Halloween. There was alot that I didn't even know where to put. Maybe I should sell a few! I love to be creative and Chalk Couture really helps out! It's easy to use and can be used on virtually everything! That's the best part!

I wan't sure if it was too crowded, but sometimes I would rather have too much that it be bare! The more the merrier I always say! With different heights and sizes of all the decor, I was able to fill the Mantel. I love to layer the banners too! Did you know that those banner are from Target's Dollar Section- just different years! I keep everything and I'm glad I do! I think they work well together!

There is a very special piece on my mantel that holds lots of memories. Before my mother-in-law passed away 10 years ago, she collected Halloween decorations. He we able to get some of her decorations and when decorating with her stuff, we talk about her and her love for Halloween. But this year, we lost Auntie Vicki suddenly. With our Auntie Katie was done for a visit, I was showing her all the items from her sister and my mother-in-law, Carol, and how we decorated with them. When we came across to the Jim Shore Scarecrow, she told us that Auntie Vicki and given Carol the Scarecrow. Now that Scarecrow means even more to use knowing it was gifted to Carol. We miss and love them both, and can talk about then while decorating!

The best part is decorating with the family and taking about all the previous Halloweens. These are the days that I hope my kids talk about with their kids.

Ready to see my Mantel?!? Check it out here!
