My Hocus Pocus Hutch in 2024 // Come check it out!

A Magical Hocus Pocus Hutch Transformation

Halloween is just around the corner, and I'm so excited to share my spooky transformation of my hutch into a Hocus Pocus-inspired display!

I've always loved the Sanderson Sisters and their quirky, witchy charm. So, when I started planning my Halloween decor, I knew I had to incorporate them into my hutch.

Here's are some ideas on how to achieved this magical look:

1. The Sanderson Sisters:

Miniature Figures: I found adorable miniature figures of the Sanderson Sisters from Funko Pop Collection- I bought these from Marshalls this year.

2. Potions:

Potion Bottles: I found these various glass bottles and they were filled them with colorful liquids and glitter.

3. Halloween Decor:

Black Cats: Add a few black cat figurines and a plush cat to the display.
Candles: You can use a variety of candles, including tall tapers and small tea lights.
Pumpkins: Placed a few small pumpkins, both real and faux, around the hutch.

4. The Finishing Touches:

Halloween Garland: Draped a black and orange garland around the hutch.
Spooky Music: I played spooky music softly in the background to create a truly eerie atmospher

Here's a breakdown of what you'll find on my enchanted hutch:

Top Shelf:

Funko Pop Sanderson Sisters set- they are singing on the stage: I couldn't resist adding these adorable figurines to the top shelf. They're the perfect touch of whimsy. I found adorable Funko Pop of the Sanderson Sisters from Marshalls this year.
Hocus Pocus Rae Dunn Mug: A must-have for any fan of the movie!
2 Rae Dunn Mixing Bowls - Smaller bowl says Hocus Pocus, bigger bowl says Trick or Treat: Can be used for passing out candy too!
Black Cauldron Hocus Pocus from Rae Dunn: This cauldron is the perfect vessel for brewing up some spooky potions.
Halloween-themed Decor: Pumpkins, bats, and other spooky decorations add to the festive atmosphere. The orange block with the black pumpkin was made by me with my Glowforge last year. The small pumpkin cup next to the Cauldron is from Johanna Parker- I can't remember where I got it from.
Hocus Pocus Banner: This banner is a fun and easy way to add some Halloween cheer to your home. I made this with the Chalk Couture Transfer Happy Haunting and Witches Watching and a clearance banner kit from walmart.
Hocus Pocus Mugs: I've collected a variety of Hocus Pocus mugs over the years, and they're always a hit with guests.
Halloween-themed Mugs: I've also included some other Halloween-themed mugs to add to the collection.

Overall, I'm thrilled with how my Hocus Pocus hutch turned out! It's the perfect way to celebrate Halloween and show my love for the Sanderson Sisters.

My 2023 4th of July 3 tiered tray // Filled with Rae Dunn, Johanna Parker and Chalk Couture // Come craft with me!

It's the time again to decorate my 3 tiered tray for 4th of July! This is one of my favorite holidays so I always love to create and decorate for it.

Top Tier: Everything on this tier is new this year. From the left is this adorable Uncle Sam mug from Johanna Parker from Marshalls. Then in front Uncle Sam is a red, white and blue wooden popsicle from Hobby Lobby. In front of that is a small little dip bowl that says America the Beautiful from Raleys. Raleys has the best holiday items! On the right is a Happy Fourth Rae Dunn mug from Home Goods. Inside of the mug is a wooden firecracker from Hobby Lobby.

Middle Tier: From the left. This is another great find - This cute little creamer cup by Johanna Parker from Marshalls. Sitting on the cup is a shabby chic star that I got in a set from Target in the Dollar Section. I painted it and then distressed it. Once that was dry, I used a retired 4th of July transfer and chalked the EST 1776 on to the star. It fit just perfect onto the star. Also sitting in the cup is a Brave Rae Dunn Spatula from Marshalls a few years back. In the middle is a blue wooden America piece from Hobby Lobby. On top of that is a piece that I made last year. I took a small scrap piece of wood and painted it. Then I distressed it. The I used a retired 4th of July transfer and added the USA in chalk paste. I really love the distressed look. Makes it feel vintage. On the right is a red Let Freedom Ring Rae Dunn mug that I got from Home Goods this year. Inside of the mug are some red and blue spatula by Rae Dunn from Marshalls and a small Flag. Hanging off a spatula is an oval vintage 4th of July Boy. It looks vintage but I bought it a few years back from Hobby Lobby. Also inside are these neat glitter firework decorations from the Dollar Tree last year.

Bottom Tier: From the left, it starts with an America the Beautiful Rae Dunn Mug I got from Home Goods this year. Inside the Mug are some more of the Dollar Tree firework decorations and a small flag. In the middle are some wooden blocks that I chalked. The bottom block was a clearance find from Hobby Lobby that I painted the front and then used the Home of the Brave section from the Land of the Free Transfer. I used Black Velvet Chalk Paste. The wooden blue block on top of the was made of scrap wood. I painted it blue and let it dry. Once it was dry I distressed it and then I used a retired 4th of July transfer with Bright White Chalk Paste. I made this last year. On the right side is a Freedom and Liberty Rae Dunn bowl set that I bought this year from Home Goods. Inside the bowls are red, white and blue paper straws. Next to the tiered tray on the right is a United we Stand picture and two small wooden firecrackers from the Dollar Section at Target.

DIY Chalk Art Mug Rack- Land of the Free // Time to get your craft on!

I bought this mug rack at Marshalls a few years ago in the clearance section. I spray painted it with black chalk paint and have been using for different holidays ever since. One of the best crafting purchase I have made in a long time! Worth ever penny for sure!

Come with me as I make this 4th of July Mug Rack!

1. First I got all my supplies together. I have used this transfer many times, so it has already been cut of the larger retired transfer. This is just a small part of it. I also grabbed my Squeegees- small and mini, Chalk pastes in lots of different colors, stir sticks and masking tape.

2. I fuzzed my transfer so it wasn't too sticky.

3. Now I placed my transfer down. I pressed down to make sure it was adhered well.

4. I placed some masking tape on top to ensure I didn't accidentally get chalk paste off the transfer.

5. I grabbed my Bright White Chalk Paste and I used my stir stick to grab some paste out the jar. Then I grabbed my small squeegee and started spreading the chalk paste all over the transfer.

6. Time to remove the transfer and wash it up. It's best to wash your transfer right after you use it and not let it sit with paste for a long time.

7. Onto the next transfer- A Star transfer. This is from a retired transfer, but there is the current transfer that has stars on them called the 1776 Patriotic Stars. I used Ocean Mist Chalk Paste for this star. I will stay that this chalk paste was a little chunky, but it works just the same.

8. I am using the same star transfer without washing it first. Did you know you can do that?!? Yes you can! This saves a lot of time. On this star I used 3 different paste colors in Ocean Mist, Bright White and Candy Apple. I used the the-dye method. I just placed small amounts of each paste color all over the transfer and then used my small squeegee to mix it all around. When you remove the transfer, it creates this fun the-dye look! I really enjoy using this technique a lot.

9. Now onto the next 2 stars. First I am going to use a different star transfer on the left in Candy Apple. It's kind of hidden but you will see it at the end. Once again, I am going to reuse the same transfer I just used. This time I am going to use a retired paste called Shimmer Splash. It's one of my favorite Chalk Paste colors ever! I Even though the transfer still has red on the transfer... that's ok! And as you can see in the last picture, there is no red residue!

10. Now these smaller stars are made with a current transfer called Land of the Free. This transfer may look a little different since it is a new type of transfer. Same easy way to use, but more see-through to easily to layer and I would say easier to clean too! First I used the Bright White Chalk Paste, and the I used Candy Apple, retired Shimmer Splash and Shimmer Gold Chalk Paste on the smaller star. Once again, I just reused the same small star with the different colors. Once done, clean up your transfers with water and a Board Eraser. Then dry upside down. Once dry, place backing back on and store to use again later!
